Bandai’s mobile phone website, m-pub.channel.or.jp is hosting an image that reads as follows:
New Code Geass Project Launch Green-Lit!
Wait for more info in 2010!!
The image also adds that this project represents a “rebirth” and that Geass will take a new step starting today. The message is signed with the name, “ZERO.”
In the January 2009 issue of Gakken’s Animedia magazine, the Sunrise anime studio indicated the possibility of more plans for its Code Geass science-fiction franchise. Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take. The Adult Swim television programming block ran Bandai Entertainment’s adaptation of the R2 sequel in North America.
This is good news for all Code Geass fans! After all the petitioning, all the whining, and all the complaining, Code Geass Season 3 is finally going to hit the Green Screen. Next year is going to be an awesome year, that’s for sure. We’ll be updating everyone when any new news is released regarding Season 3. So stay tuned, and check back often!

The January issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype magazine is announcing on Thursday that Tomomasa Takuma (Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, Kurogane Communication) is drawing a manga that is tentatively titled Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya (Code Geass: Jet-Black Renya or Code Geass: Renya of the Blackness) next year. Goro Taniguchi, the director and story co-creator of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series, created the new manga’s story concepts and is scripting the story. This is the first manga that Taniguchi is directly scripting himself.
The story takes place in the same official Code Geass history as the anime, but in a different era. The title character, Renya, is a 17-year-old boy with a mechanical left arm and shuriken throwing stars as his weapons of choice. The story begins when Renya encounters a mysterious, perpetually young witch named “Reifū C.C.” C.C. has appeared in Japan’s historical Edo era to seek a new partner for a covenant. Meanwhile, a mysterious man, with a striking resemblance to the character Lelouch of the original anime, also appears with unknown intentions.

lelouch is not dead he killed the emperor remember, he gained immortality, his best friend wanted to kill him and that’s exactly what happened, lelouch died but he didn’t stay dead just like the emperor, he died but revived that would be the most logical way if you ask me.
but anyways i heard this is going to be a alternative story or something.
i think the way it ended is the way it should end, not more and not less.

This makes sad. Though it will be intriguing to see what will happen it will also be depressing that they are effectively tearing that magnificent ending to shreds.

Ok, just thought i’de say two things just to set people straight.
1. People keep saying ‘All Hell Japan’, The actual spelling/phrase is ‘ALL HAIL JAPAN’. How can so many people make the same mistake?!
2. The editors at ‘Sunrise’ confirmed Lelouch’s death. Google it.
So, although all the possibilities that he’s still alive are really good, hes not. So, that’s just the way it is.

Of course the creators said he died, because he did, that’s when the code he got from charles activated and made him immortal. So many signs point to the fact that he lived and the only one that points to his death is suzaku stabbing him. Mao got riddled with bullets for crying out loud and he was just fine! The R2 story line didn’t need to continue, it ended beautifully. LL can be as alive or as dead as any fan wants him to be.

he arnt imortalety. look up the history guys. to get that you must suceed the the contrakt with the one that give you the geass. the emiror didnt give him the geass so he cant give him that. and btw it wasn even him that killed him eader. dont you guys follow the history? He uset his geass and made a request to god that ask the god to kill the emiror. And the god did it. Not him. So even if the emiror had given him the geass he woudnt be imortal becouse it wasnt him that killed the emiror. Lelouch is dead and we just have to axsept it. Nothing we can do about it. Oh sweet! I thought that code geass was one of the best anime’s that i’ve watched (so far). Allot of te story will still be… unanswered(?) and I think that c.c.’s story was sorta already told. Even if the third series comes out in 2010 wont we still have to wait for dubs and to buy it on dvd. o-o Don’t we all wonder what kind of good suzaku/zero did in the world and what the people do when the figure out it’s suzaku under that mask!!! Hmm Season three does sound cool
and I’m interested to see how the story “Before” the story is going to unfold.

The update has information for the Manga. Apparently both Anime and Manga are going to be made in 2010. Whether it’ll simply be a few OVAs or a whole new series is upto Sunrise. I guess they’re trying to milk an awesome series for everything it’s got.

I just finished watching C.G last night and what an amazing anime!
I like others would love it if Lelouche wasn’t dead and my own interpretation of it is he isnt, through either hes code being activated or if CC had been a stand in for him. R3 looks as though it will be seperate from R1 and R2 from what I can gather but I hope they might give us a little insight as I hate not knowing something lol! In any case I hope it comes out soon

Well, when I finally found the right link to the picture, it definitely did not look like what I was expecting. Even from this news, there are still alot of questions. How far back in the past is the story? Is it before Japan was conquered? Or maybe before Japan existed? Have Knightmares been invented? Have even guns been invented? (because his choice of weapon is shuriken)
Although there are still many questions about this season, I still look forward to seeing every episode of it.

to be honest i hope lelouch isnt in season 3 because R2 gave the perfect way for lelouch to die. hell i even cried and it takes alot for me to cry. to find out he faked it, i would feel cheated out of perfection. infact i hope they decide not to make it or do completely different characters like with G Gundam and Gundam Seed.
